On 20 August we were in Hanover and, over coffee and cake, continued our event series „WI vor Ort“ on the premises of the Liberale Jüdische Gemeinde. In this format we enter into direct conversation with Jewish citizens, present our work and, through our association’s work, carry the results of the meetings into federal politics.
What was special this time: the entire board of WerteInitiative was present in Hanover.
In the event marquee of the Liberale Gemeinde, time flew by, for the range of topics was wide: from concern about the rise of the AfD, through worrying consequences of current migration policy for Jews in Germany and a steadily increasing – particularly Israel-related – antisemitism, all the way to the question of how democratic awareness can be strengthened across society as a whole. We also had the opportunity to present the work of WerteInitiative.
