As one of the supporting organisations, we call for participation:
Standing up against terror, hatred and antisemitism – in solidarity and compassion with Israel
Rally in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin – On Sunday, 22 October 2023, 2 p.m.
Hamas’s attack on Israel is barbaric. Terrorists who gun down hundreds of celebrating people at a festival, who go from house to house in a kibbutz and execute men, women and children or abduct them as hostages into the Gaza Strip – never before has Israel experienced such inhuman violence and brutality. Never since the Shoah have so many Jews been murdered in a single day.
The terrorist attacks against Israel cannot be justified. The terrorists are not acting in the interests of the Palestinian population, nor can they invoke its suffering; they murder solely for their own ideology and their hatred. Their goal is the destruction of the State of Israel and of all Jews in the world. This coming Sunday, 22 October, in Berlin in front of the Brandenburg Gate, we will take our place with a rally at the side of the people in Israel and of all other victims of Hamas. We want to express to them our compassion and our unqualified solidarity. International law gives Israel the right to defend its existence. It is both foundation and framework. The situation in the Gaza Strip is dramatic. At the same time there is a threat of the conflict widening further through Iran and the Hezbollah it supports.
For decades the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip has suffered – also under its own regime. Hamas abuses its own population as human shields. As a result there are many victims to mourn. For them we demand safe escape corridors and targeted humanitarian aid.

It is completely unacceptable when Islamists – including in our municipalities – celebrate the Hamas massacre and glorify it as an act of liberation. Anyone who supports terror here through such slogans, or even helps to finance it, must be sanctioned and punished. Antisemitic ideology is spreading ever further and emerging ever more openly. We will not leave our society to antisemites and Islamists. Nor the streets.
Together we stand up for an open and tolerant society, for human rights, democracy and the rule of law! We do so in particular in solidarity with the population of Israel, which shares these values. We will not accept extremist and radical fundamentalist ideology – just as little as sweeping anti-Muslim criticism. Because Jewish life is under attack and endangered, we stand in solidarity at the side of Jews.
Let us show that the great majority of people in our country stand up against antisemitism, terror and hatred and are in solidarity with Israel. We support a basis for peaceful coexistence agreed by consensus between Israel and the Palestinians.
