Russia’s assault on Ukraine, the looming gas shortage for the population and the ongoing debate about measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic are producing a boom in disinformation campaigns, which threaten to fall on fertile ground.
It is important to us that politics develops an understanding of the scale of the threat that disinformation poses to democracy and implements measures against the current threat situation created by disinformation. We would like to make a contribution to this.
We thank the think & do tank “Institute for Strategic Dialogue” (ISD Germany), which helped to identify the options for action.
Our discussion on the subject of disinformation with Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter (Parliamentary State Secretary, Ministry of the Interior, SPD), Benjamin Strasser (Parliamentary State Secretary, Ministry of Justice, FDP), Pia Lamberty (Center for Monitoring, Analysis, and Strategy / CeMAS) and Julia Smirnova (Institute for Strategic Dialogue / ISD Germany) can be viewed at the following link: https://youtu.be/RF6jRGoJgqo
