On 29 November we met Nele Techen, deputy chair of the Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund in the Berlin-Brandenburg district.
We presented our work and spoke about overlaps in content and possible cooperation. The DGB does a wide variety of work against right-wing extremist developments, which in Brandenburg is also very important in view of the state elections coming up next year. We pointed out that other radical forces likewise represent a danger to our democratic society and that influencing and infiltrating democratic structures such as those of the trade unions is the declared programme of legalistic Islamism, for example.
In view of rising antisemitism, especially in the aftermath of the massacres committed by Hamas, it is particularly important for German Jewish women and men to feel the solidarity of the major democratic actors of our society.
