In our conversation with Stephan Thomae, deputy chair of the FDP parliamentary group in the Bundestag, we were able to set out in detail the work of our association and our perspective on the current political situation. As an opposition party, the FDP has the important task of critically scrutinising the government’s work and, where necessary, raising awareness among those responsible in particular areas. Where this is done constructively, it can strengthen public trust in politics and thus help to prevent people from turning to radical forces.
