Leadership programme – “Jewish political engagement in Germany”
We want young citizens who are already politically active around Jewish life in Germany to get involved in democratic parties. But how do you do that? We want to help lower the barriers.
The WerteInitiative – jüdisch-deutsche Positionen has run the seminar annually since 2021: an educational trip to the federal capital for young adults with a lasting interest in political education for democracy from a Jewish-German perspective. It has grown into a sustained leadership programme for the next generation.
The seminar offers direct insight into politics and the media in the federal capital. Participants hear first-hand from civil-society actors, representatives of the party youth organisations and Jewish and Israeli representatives about the skills, insights and experience they need for their own political work. Added to this are visits to media houses and to WerteInitiative events, as well as workshops on effective political engagement and activism – including on social media.
