On 14/11/2019 we met the CDU member of parliament Marian Wendt. Mr Wendt is chairman of the Petitions Committee and a member of the Committee on Internal Affairs. Our chairman, Elio Adler, was accompanied by the WerteInitiative’s board officer, Johannes Sarcher. Both presented the work of the WerteInitiative. Mr Wendt emphasised his support for securing a future for Jewish life in Germany and also the importance of foreign policy signals in this context. Domestic policy expert Marian Wendt stressed that there is no place for extremists in the Federal Republic and that, alongside civil-society engagement against hatred and violence, there must also be strong signals from politics. For him, this also includes a ban on the activities of associations close to Hezbollah.
