The video conference between the member of the Deutscher Bundestag Mr Helge Lindh (SPD) and our chairman Elio Adler ranged across various domestic policy topics.Mr Lindh is, among other things, a full member of the Bundestag’s Interior Committee and, within the SPD parliamentary group, rapporteur on subjects including “antisemitism”. In the conversation we shared the observation that the current strain on society caused by the coronavirus pandemic does on the one hand lead to people moving closer together. On the other hand, however, various extremists are trying to use this situation to advance their anti-social agenda. In the area of conspiracy theories in particular, it becomes apparent here too that antisemitic images are in part invoked in order to find those “to blame” for this threatening situation. In addition, Elio Adler presented the WerteInitiative and some of its projects and plans to Mr Lindh.
