It is with unease and concern that we note the founding of a Jewish party group within the AfD. We consider any involvement in this party to be wrong, because it uses its supposed friendship towards Jews and Israel above all as a licence to agitate against Muslims.
It is not only the rhetoric of figures such as Gedeon, Höcke, Gauland or Weidel that shows which way the wind is blowing; those who feel drawn to this party make it just as clear: the so-called “concerned citizens” regularly fail to distance themselves from the hate-filled neo-Nazis marching alongside them, and thereby delegitimise themselves. In this they are in line with the AfD’s officials, who usually meet the far-right fringe of their followers with silence.
Dear Jews with an affinity for the AfD: not everything in Germany is running smoothly, and there are problems that affect us Jews in particular. The AfD, however, will not solve these problems in favour of a peaceful coexistence of different cultures – it will divide. Its pattern will be: “Them today, you tomorrow.” Step by step, this leads towards a mono-religious society defined primarily in national and ethnic terms.
That is why we say: Jews will not serve as a fig leaf for crude AfD messages of hate!
