On 29 January the chairman of the board, Elio Adler, and the WerteInitiative’s adviser to the board, Aras-Nathan Keul, met the deputy leader of the Greens’ parliamentary group, Mr Konstantin von Notz. After a lively exchange on the threats to our liberal order posed by organised right-wing extremists and other enemies of the free democratic basic order, we agreed that a society whose values and freedoms are under attack must also take new paths to defend them. Without calling for statism, the state nevertheless bears a great responsibility in this. We thank Mr von Notz and his office for the conversation and have agreed to stay in touch with one another.
