In our meeting with the Federal Government’s Antisemitism Commissioner, Dr Felix Klein, we discussed a wide range of topics.
We used the conversation to support him in his commitment against the BDS movement and Al-QudsDay, and to set out to him our further, related course of action.
Mr Klein reported on the meeting with the rapporteurs on “antisemitism” from all parliamentary groups in the Bundestag. Here, gratifyingly, a cross-party, issue-related cooperation is emerging. Mr Klein is also currently doing much to drive forward the establishment of a nationwide reporting office for antisemitic incidents. An independent body is to implement a reporting system similar to the RIAS system across the country.
Pleasingly, his staffing has advanced further and the setting-up of his personal office has been completed. In addition to a large number of talks, mention should be made of a coordination meeting of the antisemitism commissioners appointed so far by the federal states, which will take place at the end of the month.
