On 30 March, the envoy of the State of Israel, Mr Aaron Sagui, visited the new office of WerteInitiative. We used the opportunity to inform him about our association’s current activities and to hand him our publication “Außenpolitik – jüdisch-deutsche Perspektiven” (Foreign policy – Jewish-German perspectives). In the conversation, the envoy expressly praised the positive development of German-Israeli relations and also showed himself confident with regard to future joint challenges. With regard to the victims of the recent terrorist attacks in Israel, we expressed our sympathy to him on behalf of our association. In view of the war in Ukraine and the ongoing Iranian aggressions, we agreed that it remains to be seen to what extent Western governments will draw parallels in dealing with other authoritarian-aggressive regimes such as Iran.
