Our meeting with the Chief Executive of the Deutscher Städtetag took place in the shadow of 7 October, whose consequences reach right into German cities. The President and the Vice-Presidents of the Deutscher Städtetag have issued a noteworthy declaration of solidarity with Israel and with German Jews .
Alongside the question of how the tensions in Germany resulting from the war between Hamas and Israel could be dealt with, we also talked about the aims of the WerteInitiative.
