Hours before the election of the chair of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, we had the opportunity to meet a face well known to us:
Klaus-Dieter Gröhler, CDU, regularly attends Jewish events and takes part in the No-AlQuds demonstration. The WerteInitiative presented its work as a Jewish-German voice and explained examples of our activities.
In our conversation with Mr Gröhler we analysed the current mood in society and discussed the need for the rather unpolitical majority of the population to take a stand. This is necessary because otherwise the various extremists will dominate the discourse. We agreed to stay in contact in future.
