In the meeting with the Obmann of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development, there was agreement on the importance of values-based politics.On 10 December 2019 our chairman Elio Adler, accompanied by our executive officer Johannes Sarcher, met Volkmar Klein, Member of the Bundestag and Obmann on the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development. Elio Adler presented the work of WerteInitiative. In an amicable conversation, the two exchanged views on values-based politics as the foundation of domestic, foreign and economic policy. Only with the help of values-based politics can our free and democratic society be strengthened and consolidated. A policy shaped by the values of the Basic Law must be recognisably reflected in all foreign and domestic policy decisions.
Further topics of conversation were a possible ban on the activities of Hezbollah and the negative image of Israel, which unfortunately also has negative effects on Jews living here.
We are pleased to know that Mr Klein is on our side in securing the future of Jewish life in Germany!
