The subject of “migration” will be of considerable importance for us Jews as well in the future. Reason enough for WerteInitiative to hold a political salon on this cluster of questions. On the evening of 24 October 2019 we were able to welcome the founder and chairman of the renowned Czech think tank “European Values Center for Security Policy”, Mr Radko Hokovsky, as our guest. Politicians as well as members and friends of WerteInitiative had been invited. At European level, Mr Hokovský studies the spiral of Islamism and right-wing extremism and its connection with migration. He gave an absorbing and illuminating lecture entitled “Future of migration to Europe – forecast and consequences of action”. Among other things, it addressed what migration movements may look like in the future and how Europe can respond to them in a dignified manner. The discussion with participants that followed showed just how far-reaching and challenging the questions surrounding migration that has already taken place and that is to be expected in future really are. We will let the insights of the evening feed into our work. We thank Mr Hokovský and our guests for this evening rich in debate.
