The author Ismail Küpeli will read passages from his current book “Graue Wölfe. Türkischer Rechtsextremismus in Deutschland” and will be available for discussion.
Turkish right-wing extremism, organised under the name “Graue Wölfe” or “Ülkücü movement”, is numerically the second-largest far-right movement in Germany. Together we will examine the deeply authoritarian and misanthropic ideology of this movement and will above all discuss the growing importance within it, since 7 October 2023, of conspiracy thinking and (Israel-related) antisemitism.
