At the beginning of this week we met Andreas Audretsch, one of the deputy parliamentary group leaders of Bündnis90/Die Grünen in the Bundestag.
The central topic was how we can forge broad alliances against antisemitism. Antisemitism frequently appears in combination with other forms of group-focused enmity. There are thus overlaps with racism, hostility towards queer people or conspiracy theories, which call our democracy and the values of our Grundgesetz (Basic Law) into question as a whole. We can best counter this if many people join together in order to stand up jointly for the values of our Grundgesetz.
Only on such a common basis is it possible to protect our free, open and inclusive society against extremists and opponents of democracy.
We warmly thank Andreas Audretsch for the interesting conversation and look forward to further exchange!”
