Christian Sommer is the representative of the Motion Picture Association (MPA) – the association of the Hollywood studios – in Germany. The MPA, whose members include Netflix, Disney and Paramount among others, supports in Germany, among other things, the Jewish Film Festival Berlin-Brandenburg, which is the largest Jewish film festival in Germany.
Among other things, we exchanged views on the growing politicisation of art and culture, and on the opportunities but also the risks this entails. It was important to our chairman to share our perspective on this field, and in Mr Sommer we found a pleasant conversation partner who was already highly aware of the issues.
