The member of the Bundestag Karl-Heinz Brunner from the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag in conversation with our chairman. Using examples such as our commitment against online hate, the handling of the FDGO protective shield § 46.2 and our advocacy of a ban on Hezbollah activities, we presented the concept of the WerteInitiative’s work to Mr Brunner: issues that are relevant for a Jewish future in Germany are just as relevant for the non-Jewish majority society. “Antisemitism” is therefore something that the majority society should fight out of its own interest.
Equally significant: a society must know “what for” it lives together and what unites it. We agreed: German flags should be waved not only at the football World Cup, but by all those who associate them not with nationalism but with the values of the Basic Law.
