Commentary by our chairman, Dr Elio Adler, on political Islam and on how society deals with Islamism:
“The term ‘political Islam’, however, means something completely different: it refers to Islamists who want to abolish the secular state and the free democratic society in favour of a fundamentalist Islamic social system. This can very well happen by legalistic-political means.
Nevertheless, these actors should be met with vigilance. For just as there is a connection between right-wing extremist attacks and right-wing agitators in society as a whole, the situation with Islamism is similar: anyone who wants to take successful action against Islamism must begin with political Islam.”
