Recently we met with the Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, Elisabeth Winkelmeier-Becker of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.
Following a brief presentation of our association’s activities, we spoke about the central importance of unifying values of freedom within broad civil society. Such a basis is necessary in order to be able to counter hostility to democracy in all its forms effectively. A society that actively lives the recognition of the human dignity of others and all the values derived from it is also automatically a society without antisemitism. In this, it is the task of the state under the rule of law to create a framework for this and thus, for its part, to contribute to securing peaceful coexistence.
