On 16 March we met Juliane Seifert, State Secretary at the Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat.
Elio Adler presented the work of the WerteInitiative as well as the activities and projects of 2021. Ms Seifert emphasised the importance that secure Jewish life in Germany has for the federal government. There was great agreement regarding the very different quarters from which Jewish women and men are exposed to hostility.
As the WerteInitiative we welcome the announced measures to combat right-wing extremism holistically – with prevention and a firm hand. Our democracy must be capable of defending itself and must face its greatest challenge: the strengthening of the extreme right.
We wish the Ministry of the Interior every success in implementing the action plan and look forward to the intended further exchange.
