Every year, on the last Friday of Ramadan, the antisemitic Al-Quds march is also planned in major European cities. A march at which fantasies of annihilation against Israel, incitement and hatred against Jews are openly propagated on German streets as well. In Berlin the organisers pre-empted a possible ban this year and cancelled the march. Nevertheless it takes place regularly in other German cities, such as Frankfurt am Main. In our two-part series we shed light in Part 1 on the background of Al-Quds Day. In Part 2 we will address current, concrete events. In this WI-Talk we speak with Dr Ulrike Becker, head of research at the Mideast Freedom Forum Berlin, about the background of Al-Quds Day. Moderation: Leonard Kaminski
