Happy birthday, Grundgesetz! Seventy years ago, on 23 May, our Basic Law was born. It is the most important cornerstone of a free, democratic and tolerant Germany. Human dignity, freedom of expression and freedom of faith, conscience and creed are fundamental rights enshrined in our constitution.
If these values are to remain alive in Germany in the future too, every one of us is called upon. We must all live them! Let us be active and give 70 years of the Basic Law the celebration it deserves. Now it is over to you: make a video about what you think of the Basic Law and what “freedom, democracy, tolerance” and other democratic values mean in your life. Clips should be no longer than 15 seconds. Email them to us or – if they are too large – send them via WeTransfer, for example. The best video will be posted on our website and on Facebook.
