Our chairman Elio Adler and the spokesman of the WerteInitiative, Leonard Kaminski, met the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat, Ms Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter (SPD), to discuss the danger that disinformation campaigns pose to our free democratic basic order.
We agreed that mobilisation phenomena are currently occurring within groups that seek to delegitimise the state. Possible supply shortages and price increases for gas, oil and electricity will foreseeably be exploited by anti-democratic forces. Swift and efficient action by politics and civil society is necessary in order to be able to counter these attempts to destabilise our democracy.
Against this background we presented to Parliamentary State Secretary Schwarzelühr-Sutter our current WerteInitiative position paper on the subject of disinformation and discussed it with her.
