As deputy chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, Thorsten Frei is responsible, among other things, for the areas of home affairs and justice. Areas that are thematically at the centre of our interest. We used the conversation to present some of our future projects to Mr Frei and to talk about possibilities for cooperation in this regard. For example, he will take part in our panel in the next instalment of the “360°” series.
We also exchanged views on the pros and cons of the forthcoming amendment to the Basic Law in the area of paragraph 3 and spoke about the appropriate way of dealing with racism, hostility towards Muslims and antisemitism, which on the one hand must be recognised in their difference, but must nevertheless be fought with equal determination. The guiding principle: Basic Law, Art. 1.1: “Human dignity shall be inviolable.”
